🔬 Position: Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)

Project Title: Rapid and Affordable Diagnostics for Stratifying Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (RADICAL)

📋 Project Overview

This four-year ICMR-funded study aims to develop rapid and affordable diagnostic methods for acute leukemia using:

  • Long-read nanopore sequencing diagnostics

  • Fusion detection and low-pass whole genome sequencing

  • Methylation-based classifiers with artificial intelligence/machine learning integration

  • Cloud computing deployment for multicentre applicability

The position is primarily computational.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

✅ Educational Qualification & Experience (any one of the below mandatory):

Option 1:

  • First Class in Postgraduate Degree (including integrated PG) with 3 years of experience in computational fields

  • OR Ph.D. in computational fields

  • Python proficiency is mandatory

  • Experience in Python-based ML is desirable

  • Experience with long-read sequencing analytics is desirable

Option 2:

  • Second Class in Postgraduate Degree (including integrated PG) with Ph.D. and 3 years of experience in computational fields

  • Python proficiency is mandatory

  • Experience in Python-based ML is desirable

  • Experience with long-read sequencing analytics is desirable

🔢 Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 40 years

💰 Salary

  • Rs. 87,100/- per month
    (Basic Rs. 67,000 + HRA @ 30%)

🕒 Duration

  • Six months, extendable based on project requirements and performance
